wee wonderfuls inchworm handmade felt critter

Hello and happy new year! I'm hoping it's not too late to still be saying that, but as this is my first post for twenty-fourteen, I thought I should acknowledge the fact, albeit briefly...

I am still in a peculiar flux state between what was the old year and what this new year will bring as I work through the last phase of what feels very strongly like a deep hibernation mode. Next month life will get very busy again, so for now I am enjoying this quiet flux time...

Anyways, I thought it would be fun to show you the little felty bookworm critter I created during my winter-retreat. I found her on another mission to create something entirely different that didn't pan out as planned (that is now on a backburner for another day). Little Miss Bookworm is from Hillary Lang's book of 24 dolls to sew and love, Wee Wonderfuls. As soon as I saw her I just knew she would be the perfect 'just because, thank you' gift for a book-loving curator friend.

One tiny word of note on this book of step-by-steps if you are thinking of making one of these Wee Wonderfuls, and this is solely based on my experience with this particular pattern:

Rather than taking the printed instruction and patterns on face-value, do double-check the suggested alignment of the facial features by eye as their positioning seemed a little out. So some fine-tuning adjustments may need to be experimented with for a satisfactory result.

I understand that there are several editions of this book available, so this issue may have been resolved.
